Grand Canyon Skywalk Price
How Much It Costs to Do the Glass Walkway

The Grand Canyon Skywalk price is one of the West Rim's most asked questions. I've been trying to peg it down for a while. I think the Indians that manage the attraction were, too. Hi, I'm Keith Kravitz, and I want to let you know that I've got it nailed down. Here's the skinny...

Best West Rim Tour

The best deal is the Legacy Gold package. It's the one that includes access to the glass bridge, plus everything else that's in the other packages.

My thinking is this: If you've made the 125-mile journey to Grand Canyon West, the Skywalk is mandatory. That's my opinion. I do know others who prefer a more simplistic experience. If that's you, then go with the Silver Package. Why? Because it includes a delicious homemade lunch, which, after an hour on the rim, you'll be starving.

The Glass Walkway

The Skywalk was completed in 2007. The astronaut Buzz Aldrin, among others, christened this engineering marvel. Since then, 200,000 people visit it annually. The attraction? Consider this: The walkway lets you walk 70 feet past the rim and suspends you 4,000 feet above the Colorado River.

During my research, I turned up an interesting comment by bridge architect Mark Ross Johnson, who, to paraphrase, said the intent of the bridge is to make travlers feel like they are surrounded by the canyon. I've been to the very end of the platform and let me tell you they've masterfully achieved this effect.

Grand Canyon Skywalk Bus Tours

Of course, you can self drive to the Skywalk. I don't recommend it unless you have a SUV in good condition. The last 10 miles of the road to Grand Canyon West are unpaved and pretty rough.

Bus tours are a great alternative. The basic trip includes transport to the rim, the Hualapai Legacy package. and lunch. The other bus option is one that includes the Legacy Gold package with Skywalk. Feeling really adventurous? Bump that bus tour up to one that includes a helicopter ride to the bottom of the canyon and a boat ride down the Colorado River. Use these promo links to book these tours cheap:

Time to Ride!

Now that you know the Grand Canyon Skywalk price (few do!), you are in a better position to pick the a trip package that works best for you. Again, I don't recommend renting a car. It costs too much. Instead, book a West Rim bus tour. It's safer, easier, and much cheaper in the long run.

Have a Grand Day!
