Grand Canyon Bus Coupons

The absolute most economical way to visit the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas is by bus. Prices start as low as $80 per person! Feeling really adventurous? Upgrade. Customize your bus trip to include Skywalk tickets, a helicopter ride or a boat trip. Of course, the cost increases when you add on the goodies. No worries. Use my exclusive promotional links and you'll save bundle.

But first, let me give you a rim-by-rim breakdown. That way you'll positively know which part of the Grand Canyon to visit.

West Rim Tours

This rim is 120 miles from Vegas. Buses cover the distance in 2.5 hours. Most include a Hoover Dam photo stop. The last ten miles is over rough dirt road, which today's coaches handle with ease.

The world famous Grand Canyon Skywalk is here. You might know it as the Glass Bridge, the Glass Walkway, or simply as the Sky Walk. It's all good. Here are some quick facts:

  • Opened in 2007
  • Cost: $30 million
  • Each glass panel cost $250,000
  • Can withstand earthquakes, 100-mph windstorms
  • Extends 70 feet past the edge
  • The Colorado River is 4,000 feet below
  • Twice as large as the tallest skyscraper
  • Can hold 800 people. Only 120 allowed at once.

The West Rim, which lies entirely on Hualapai Indian Reservation land, is the only place where you can ride a helicopter to the bottom. Most travelers add a boat trip.

The key lookouts are Eagle Point and Guano Point. Be careful at Eagle: There are no guardrails and the drop is steep. Use the free hop-on-hop-off shuttle. Remember to enjoy the Indian Cultural Center.

In a nutshell, the West Rim is where you go for activities and attractions.

South Rim Tours

The Grand Canyon South Rim bus tour is the king of bus trips. This rim is 270-plus miles from Vegas. One-way drive time is 5.5 hours. This tour leaves around 7 a.m. and returns around 9 p.m. Includes a photo stop at Hoover Dam. Guided tour at the rim and access to the Park's most popular lookouts (Mather Point, Yaki Point). Concludes at Grand Canyon Village where you'll find restaurants, gift shops, and museums. The most popular upgrade is the rim-to-rim helicopter flight (worth every minute!).

Do the South Rim if you are looking for true natural beauty.

Luxury Motor Coaches

Ground tours require drive time. There's no way around it. Thankfully, all bus tours to the West Rim and the South Rim are done aboard modern luxury coaches. Most come with spacious cabins, personal A/C units, pull-down blinds, cozy seats and personal headsets for trip narration. I've done both rims and I can tell you from experience that I'd rather bus than rent a car and do it myself.

Ready to Ride

I hope so. Especially with my list of Grand Canyon bus coupons. These trips are already a fantastic bargain. But why not save more? Me, I prefer to take the difference and spend it at the gift shop. Do plan to spend an entire day on these trips. Dress accordingly, too. If summer, bring water, sunscreen, and a hat. Winter, dress in layers and bring a medium-weight jacket. Enjoy yourself. You're about to see the best of the Seven Wonders of the World and it's definitely worth the drive.
